Futsal is an alternative type of soccer, with a few key differences. One of the biggest benefits of futsal at Drive Nation, especially for younger players, is it has fewer rules than regular soccer. This allows more freedom of play, and less having to learn some of the more complex rules of soccer – like the off-side rule.

A futsal ball is smaller than a regular soccer ball, with a different material inside that reduces the bounce on a hard floor. Couple this with the smaller size of the pitch, and the focus of futsal shifts to improving technique and control as you play. This is a great way to develop and improve the skill of younger players, as well as teaching them focus – both mental and physical – and teamwork.

Speaking of teamwork – futsal also has rolling substitutions. This means that players can join the game through substitutions as it’s being played, meaning that there’s more of an opportunity for everyone to join in.

If your kids can’t get enough of soccer, then you probably struggle through the off-seasons. With the harsh winds and lower temperatures during the winter, the energy so crucial on the field can give your kids cabin fever. There is no better way for them to expend that energy and work on their skills than putting them into a futsal youth soccer. Futsal has seen a rise in popularity in recent years, and Drive Nation has already joined the game with our futsal camps, clinics, and open play. Among the many different sport and fitness options that we offer at Drive Nation, futsal youth soccer is one of the most fast-paced, competitive, and fun.
